Grace Fan is an international partner in the corporate department and the cross-border M&A practice group, Belt and Road sub-group of King & Wood Mallesons. She has a broad practice that includes cross border mergers and acquisitions, project development and financing, international arbitration and private equity investments focusing on oil and gas, new energy, mineral resources, financial institutions, ship building/FPSO and EPC infrastructure industry sectors.
Grace has extensive experience advising clients on transactions throughout the Asia Pacific region, North America, South America; Africa, Indonesia, Russia and Central Asia (especially Kazakhstan). In recent years, she has advised major Chinese state-owned clients with respect to outbound transactions in North America, Southeast Asia, South America， Kazakhstan and Russia. She has extensive experience with running or participating in buy- or sell-side auction process, as applicable, for oil and gas, and mining and natural resources assets across multiple jurisdictions, along with financial and geological teams.
She has also helped Chinese energy and natural resources clients with legal matters throughout clients' operational chain, including settlement negotiations for payment and/or interest allocation disputes, along with the arbitration team members.
In recent years, Grace also helped design global compliance regime for energy-focused companies, including anti-corruption, sanctions, data protection and export control areas.
