Ms. Chen focuses on dispute resolution and litigation. She particularly specializes in advising on disputes over real estate & construction projects, energy, M&A, notes and asset management of financial institutions, as well as family wealth management, especially pre-planning and crisis response.
In the field of real estate, projects and energy dispute resolution, Ms. Chen has advised numerous real estate companies, construction enterprises and large energy groups on resolution of disputes concerning land planning and approval, transfer of land use right, registration and ownership of land, real estate co-development, transfer of real estate projects, sale and lease of premises, construction contracts, quality and payments of construction projects, venture partnership of exploration right, investment and cooperation of mining right, transfer of mineral rights, infringement of mining right, M&A and construction of PV and wind power projects. In this process, she has accumulated extensive experience.
In the field of disputes over M&A and notes and asset management of financial institutions, Ms. Chen has served as lead partner in complex matters involving disputes over equity M&A of large companies, notes and asset management of financial institutions and disposition of non-performing assets, etc. She is uniquely insightful and experienced in dispute resolution of major complex matters.
In the field of family wealth management, Ms. Chen is dedicated to research and practice of high net worth individuals and family wealth risk management. She collaborates with corporate & securities, compliance, tax, criminal and other teams to provide clients with a full spectrum of family wealth management services covering pre-planning, crisis response and dispute resolution. Ms. Chen has assisted a number of famous domestic entrepreneurs in resolving disputes over marriage, family, inheritance, control and corporate governance of family business, and designing and implementing family wealth management plans, and thus successfully realizing their goals of wealth protection and inheritance.
Over more than 20 years of dispute resolution, Ms. Chen has accumulated abundant social resources and legal practice experience. Familiar with the way of thinking and working process of courts and arbitration institutions, she provides practical and effective legal advice, helping clients maximize their benefits and receiving their high praise and wide acclaim. In addition, Ms. Chen edited publications including Case Studies Concerning Practical Focus Issues on Resolution of Real Estate and Project Disputes, which was published by the Law Press of China.
Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons in January 2005, Ms. Chen had served at Beijing Huanzhong & Partners since 1994 and became a partner in 1996. She was admitted to the partnership at BJH & NEWERA Law Firm in 2001 and became a founding partner of Beijing Winstar Law Firm in June 2003.
Ms. Chen obtained her LL.B. from China University of Political Science and Law and her LL.M. from the University of International Business and Economics. She was admitted as a Chinese lawyer in 1993. From April to July 2000, Ms. Chen was sent by Beijing Municipal Bureau of Justice to work at Mallesons Stephen Jaques in Australia.
