2016 World IP Day: Encouraging Connectivity and Protecting Innovation

(At the moment, the video is in Chinese only)

Every year on April 26 – the day on which the WIPO Convention came into effect in 1970 – World Intellectual Property Day is celebrated to increase a general understanding of IP and raise awareness of how it influences our daily lives.

This year’s theme is ‘Digital Creativity: Culture Reimagined’, providing a unique perspective on contributions made by creators and innovators across the cultural spectrum, from music to art, and video games to technology. It aims to explore how these contributions have shaped the world and how it will continue to do so in the future. While digital technology has allowed easier access to international markets, it has come with challenges eg copyright protection, IP protection and maximising value in the digital age.

In celebration of World Intellectual Property Day, we have prepared a series of articles to reflect on current IP laws and regulations:

To discuss any of these topics further, please contact your KWM team or the KWM IP group.
