King & Wood Mallesons releases KWM INSIGHTS: The PRC Civil Code: Legal System Reform and Implications

The long-awaited Civil Code of the People's Republic of China (the Civil Code) was officially adopted on 28 May 2020. The Civil Code is a fundamental law that strengthens the foundation, ensures stability in expectations and has long-term interests, and a code that has distinctive Chinese characteristics and keeps up with the practice and times. It will have profound and far-reaching implications on the development of rule of law and legal services in China.

Leveraging their solid theoretical knowledge and extensive practical experience, many partners from different practice groups of King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) have studied the Civil Code thoroughly since its promulgation, and prepared KWM INSIGHTS: The PRC Civil Code: Legal System Reform and Implications.
