Catherine Danne

Catherine is a member of the Banking and Infrastructure practice at King & Wood Mallesons and specialises in project and infrastructure financing, project and asset procurement and development, and corporate and general financing.  Catherine has significant experience and expertise across a broad range of project sectors, including social infrastructure (hospitals, schools and prisons), infratech (land registry and data centres), economic infrastructure (roads and transport), renewables/energy (wind and solar) and real estate (social and affordable housing).

Her experience includes advising sponsors, developers, contractors and financiers.

Catherine has a Graduate Certificate in Applied Finance from FINSIA/Kaplan, and a Graduate Certificate in Legal Practice and Bachelor of Arts in Communication (Journalism) / Bachelor of Laws from the University of Technology, Sydney.

  • Advising the Lendlease-led consortium in respect of the development of the Carlton Connect Precinct for the University of Melbourne.
  • Advising a Consortium in relation to a bid for the ANU Student Accommodation Project.
  • Advising lenders to a bidding consortium in relation to the privatisation of the Ausgrid and Transgrid electricity network business in NSW.
  • Advising a Consortium in relation to a bid for the acquisition of the Crown Castle telecommunications towers.
  • Advising lenders to the successful bidding consortium in relation to the A$2.3 billion privatisation of the Sydney Desalination Plant.
  • Advising Healthscope in its project financing and project negotiations with Queensland Health and negotiations with a consortium of project financiers in relation to the Gold Coast Private Hospital.

PPPs

  • Advising a contractor in relation to a bid in respect of the New Footscray Hospital PPP.
  • Advising lenders to a bidding consortium in respect of the NSW Regional Rail PPP.
  • Advising lenders to the successful consortium in respect of the Sydney Metro City & Southwest OTS PPP.
  • Advising lenders to the successful bidding consortium in respect of the Western Outer Suburban Arterial Roads Programme in Victoria.
  • Advising the Healthscope consortium on their successful bid for the NSW Northern Beaches Hospital Project and ongoing project/finance work.
  • Advising lenders to the successful bidding consortia on the Victorian Schools, Ravenhall Prison, Queensland Schools, Sydney Convention Centre and Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison PPPs.

Infratech

  • Advising the successful bidding consortium in relation to the acquisition of a majority stake in data centre firm AirTrunk.
  • Advising the successful bidding consortium in relation to the partial commercialisation of the WA Land Titles Office.
  • Advising a bidding consortium in relation to the partial commercialisation of the Victorian Land Titles Office.

Energy

  • Advising the project sponsors and developers in relation Stages 1 and 2 of the Murra Warra Wind Farm.
  • Advising a bidding consortium in relation to the acquisition, development and project financing of the Stockyard Hill Wind Farm Project.
  • Advising project sponsors in relation to their successful bid to acquire the Macarthur Wind Farm Project.

Real Estate

  • Advising the successful bidding consortium in relation to the development and project financing of social and affordable housing in Brighton, Flemington and Prahran in Victoria through a 40 year land lease concession from the Victorian Government.
  • Advising lenders to a successful bidding consortium in respect of phase 1 of the NSW Social and Affordable Housing Fund Program.
