King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has advised Atlas Arteria on its A$495 million equity raising, comprising a fully underwritten A$420 million placement and a non-underwritten security purchase plan to raise up to A$75 million.
The KWM team advising on the transaction was led by partner, Henrik Moritz. Henrik was assisted by special counsel, Amanda Isouard, senior associates Shabarika Ajitkumar and Matthew Ward and solicitors Angus Moore and Felicity Bell.
Commenting on the transaction, Henrik said: “We were very happy to assist Atlas Arteria on another landmark capital raising. KWM’s ability to act on so many capital raisings during the COVID-19 crisis is reflective of the strength of the firm’s ECM capabilities”.
KWM also advised on Atlas Arteria’s three previous capital raisings in 2017 and 2019.
KWM has advised a range of other ASX and NZX listed clients on capital raisings during the COVID-19 crisis, including NAB, Incitec Pivot, Flight Centre, Macquarie, Charter Hall Retail REIT, oOh!media and Auckland Airport. KWM also advised the lead managers on the Lendlease, Oil Search, Credit Corp, Megaport and Australian Finance Group capital raisings during this time. KWM acted on a large number of capital raisings during the GFC and has drawn on that invaluable experience when working on capital raisings during the COVID-19 crisis.
The cumulative total of funds raised under the firm’s guidance since 22 March 2020 is approximately $10.6 billion
