Celebrating five years of the KWM Aspire Award with The Smith Family

In April 2016, KWM in Sydney celebrated 5 years of the KWM Aspire Award program.  

The KWM Aspire Award is a national scholarship program designed to help young Australians pursue their tertiary ambitions. The award is open to Year 11 students on The Smith Family’s Learning for Life program and consists of a $9,000 scholarship apportioned over three years to assist students with the cost of tertiary education and mentoring by a KWM staff member who will guide and support the winners as they transition into tertiary studies. 

The award was launched in 2011 to celebrate 10 years of partnership with The Smith Family, and is available in each state where KWM has an office. 

At the celebration, KWM staff members and guests heard from Aspire alumni, current Aspire scholars, and representatives from The Smith Family who spoke of the impact of the Aspire Award. The 2015 Aspire winner also spoke about his plans for the future, and what support he believed he could gain from the program.
