Review of Australia's patent cases 2010

Welcome to Mallesons’ eighth annual patent case review which examines the most important decisions handed down by the High Court of Australia, the Federal Court of Australia and the Australian Patent Office. The Federal Court issued a new Practice Note for patent proceedings which commenced on 1 July 2010, with the aim of promoting the efficient identification of issues and improving the trial process.  These measures are part of IP Australia’s current strategy to raise the standard of patents granted in Australia and streamline the processes at IP Australia.
