Rudolf Haas is a partner in the Corporate Department focusing on capital markets transactions.
He advises on securities issues and other financings, both debt (including high-yield) and equity, as well as public M&A transactions. His clients are issuers, bidders, underwriters and financial advisers. In recent years, Rudolf Haas has advised, inter alia, The Republic of Kazakhstan in the update of its US-$ 10,000,000,000 Global Medium Term Note Programme as well as the first two issuances thereunder in an aggregate volume exceeding EUR 1 billion, Qingdao Haier Co., Ltd. in its listing of so-called D-Shares on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange and the CEINEX D-Share Market, and a consortium of banks lead by Bank of China, ICBC, China Construction Bank and Export-Import Bank of China in the EUR 3.7 billion refinancing of Midea Group in connection with the acquisition of German KUKA AG.
Mr. Haas studied law in Freiburg, Regensburg and at the University of Virginia (LL.M. 1994), took the German bar exam in Bavaria in 1996 and has been practicing as an attorney since 1997. Prior to joining the King & Wood Mallesons network, he was partner in a globally active US firm in Frankfurt for 15 years. He is admitted as a Rechtsanwalt in Germany and as Attorney-at-Law in Virginia; he started his career at a law firm in Atlanta. Mr. Haas regularly speaks on issues of capital markets law.
