Mr. Zhang Ruohan's main practice areas are anti-monopoly and anti-unfair competition.

With many years of professional experience, Mr. Zhang has provided clients with comprehensive professional services in the field of anti-monopoly and anti-unfair competition, including: representing clients in the anti-monopoly authority's declaration of concentration of undertakings (including in complex transactions)
Design and assist in the implementation of the divestiture plan); assist customers in responding to antitrust investigations and on-site surprise inspections by government authorities; provide antitrust compliance consulting and advice on customers' business models, pricing strategies and dealer management; customize internal antitrust for customers Compliance audit and special training.

Assist large domestic financial clearing institutions to improve their personal information protection compliance system, and provide opinions on the legality of their overseas branches' data access to domestic data platforms.

Over the years, as a member of the King & Wood Mallesons project team, Mr. Zhang has actively participated in the drafting of supporting regulations, implementation measures and related guidelines of the Chinese Anti-Monopoly Law.

In addition to anti-monopoly and anti-unfair competition, Mr.Zhang's practice area also includes national security reviews triggered by cross-border transactions.

Mr. Zhang serves clients in a wide range of industries, whether in emerging fields and fields with high innovation requirements such as chips, technology, IT, finance, and entertainment, or in traditional industries such as automobiles, chemicals, minerals, energy, medicine, and aviation.

In fields such as retail and retail, Mr. Zhang has brought many insightful professional consultations and services to clients with a solid theoretical foundation and cutting-edge vision.

Work Experience

Mr. Zhang joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2014. Before that, Mr. Zhang worked in an international law firm in Chicago, U.S and worked in an investment bank in Beijing. 

Mr. Zhang holds a Bachelor of Laws from China University of Political Science and Law and a Master in Law from University of Pennsylvania.

Mr. Zhang was admitted as a lawyer in China in 2018.

Mr. Zhang's working languages are Chinese and English.
