Jessie Yu specializes in compliance and tax advisory, tax planning, tax dispute resolution, transfer pricing, and private wealth management.
She has over 11 years of experience in tax and related legal services in China, covering business compliance, equity and transaction arrangement, related party transaction system, employee equity incentive, and tax dispute resolution. Her clients span a broad range of industries, including TMT, FMCG, pharmaceuticals, entertainment and sports, semiconductor, artificial intelligence, real estate, manufacturing, automobile, and finance.
Jessie has expertise in tax advice on a variety of transactions, such as M&As and restructuring, private equity investment, red-chip structure building or dismantling, privatization of overseas listed companies, restructuring before domestic and overseas IPO. She provides legal and tax services for overall business and transaction arrangement to help her clients properly apply tax preferential policies and optimize their overall tax costs while ensuring compliance. She also assists domestic well-known consumer goods and pharmaceutical manufacturers in establishing and improving their compliance system. In the field of tax dispute resolution, Jessie has handled many major tax-related investigations, tax audits, and administrative reviews, achieving desirable results. She assists in pricing planning and implementation of various related party transactions and application for bilateral advance pricing arrangements, and defends her clients in transfer pricing investigations. In addition, Jessie advises high-net-worth individuals on wealth planning and management in the tax aspects. She designs employee equity incentive schemes, provides tax optimization advice and effectively implement them for her clients.
Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons in 2015, Jessie worked as a tax manager in Shanghai office of one of the Big 4 accounting firms.
Jessie graduated from Shanghai International Studies University with a LL.B in International Economic Law. She is a licensed PRC lawyer.
