Yao Lijuan (Jennifer) specialises in cross-border M&As, foreign direct investment and corporate governance.
Ms. Yao has more than 10 years of practice experience. She has represented many state-owned enterprises, listed companies, PE funds and famous multinational companies in their strategic investments, equity or asset acquisitions, mergers and restructuring, establishment of joint ventures, setup of plants, R&D centre and regional HQ, and technical cooperation both in and outside China. She has also assisted such organizations in completing investment exit and resolving disputes arising from operation. She has rich experience in various industries including automobile and mobility, new energy, Fintech and financial services, advanced manufacturing, energy and chemical engineering, and agriculture and food. The clients are particularly impressed with her sharp insight and brilliance in delivering strategic solutions.

Ms. Yao joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2006.
Ms. Yao obtained her LLM degree from University of California at Berkeley, School of Law. She received her Master of International Law from University of International Business and Economics and her LLB from Shanghai International Studies University.
Ms. Yao is qualified to practice law in China and the State of New York.
Ms. Yao's working languages are Chinese and English.
