Mr. Yan Zhen specializes in M&A, legal affairs of listed companies, trusts and asset management, real estate and infrastructure investment and non-performing asset investment.

Mr. Yan has started his legal career in 2007 and focusing on M&A. Mr. Yan once worked in the legal department at a Global 500 finance group in China, responsible for legal compliance of investment and M&A, and has a deep understanding of investment, M&A and insurance industry.

Mr. Yan also has extensive work experience in asset management. Mr. Yan has worked in the legal compliance department of a reputable trust company and a securities company in China for many years, and has distinctive expertise in trust, PE, asset management of securities companies and insurance companies. Mr. Yan is familiar with the legal compliance issues of asset management products, including structure design, fund raising, operation, risk handling, etc., and can provide clients with legal services covering full life cycle of asset management products.

In the field of real estate and infrastructure investment, Mr. Yan has provided legal services for many domestic and foreign enterprises in infrastructure investment and construction. In addition, Mr. Yan represented a variety of well-known financial institutions in their real estate investment projects, providing services such as transaction structure design, due diligence, document drafting, etc.

In the field of non-performing asset investment, Mr. Yan assisted a number of asset management companies (AMC) and financial institutions in the bankruptcy projects of listed companies, to demonstrate investment opportunities, design investment structures and draft various transaction documents.

Work experience

Mr. Yan joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2007, served in the legal department of a number of financial institutions from 2013 to 2020, and returned to King & Wood Mallesons in 2020.

Mr. Yan graduated from Jilin University, LLM degree (2007).

Mr. Yan's working language are Chinese and English.
