Ms. Wu Qing specializes in environmental law and has extensive experience in environmental legislation, environmental litigation, and environmental compliance audit projects.
Ms. Wu is appointed as a legal advisor by the Ministry of Ecology and Environment of the People’s Republic of China (“MEE”), an external supervisor by the Supreme People’s Court (“SPC”), an expert advisor on judicial trials of the Environment and Resources Division in the Supreme People’s Court, and a Research Fellow of the Research Centre of Environment and Resources Adjudication in the Supreme People’s Court. Ms. Wu is also a Vice Director of Environmental Supervision Research Division of Chinese Society For Environmental Sciences, an expert of the ecological consulting group of the United Front Work Department of CPC Central Committee, and the lead expert of the assessment of the environmental law enforcement training throughout China. In addition, Ms. Wu served as a national delegate of the 12th National People’s Congress.
Ms. Wu law has participated in the enactment of various essential environmental laws in China People’s Congress, including: Environmental Protection Law, Air Pollution Prevention and Control Law, Water Pollution Prevention and Control Law, Soil Pollution Prevention and Control Law, and Environmental Impact Assessment Law. She participated in the enactment of various essential environmental regulations in MEE, including: Regulations on the Administration of Pollutant Discharge Permits, Administrative Measures for the Trading of Carbon Emission Permits (for Trial Implementation), Administrative Measures for the Mandatory Disclosure of Environmental Information by Enterprises, etc. She also participated in the formulation of the Judicial Interpretation of the Supreme People's Court on mining rights.

Ms. Wu bases her service on industries and has deep cooperation with various industries. She has provided environmental legal services to clients in an extensive range of industries, including the automobile, non-ferrous metal, chemistry, pharmaceuticals, electricity, building material, and sewage treatment industry. The team has compiled the Blue Book of Environmental Compliance in The Automobile Industry, the 2022 Study Report on The Policies, Laws and Practice Cases of The Carbon Peaking and Neutrality Implementation Routes in The Automobile Industry, and the Blue Book of Environmental Violation Case Analysis in The Non-Ferrous Industry for the year of 2021.
Ms. Wu was also ranked as the Band 1 PRC lawyer in environmental law by Chambers Asia Pacific Guide.
Ms. Wu joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2013, before that, she had been practicing as the founding partner in a reputable law firm in Guangdong.
Ms. Wu obtained her LLB degree from China University of Political Science and Law in 1989.
