Mr. Owen Wang specializes in cross-border M&A, private equity investment, debt restructuring and foreign direct investment transactions.
With profound legal training and extensive professional experience over many years, Owen usually acts as lead counsel in complex cross-border transactions and provides comprehensive solutions to clients, covering industries ranging from TMT, finance, real estate, insurance, leisure and entertainment to health care. In addition, Owen has been involved in several privatization transactions of U.S.-listed Chinese companies and de-SPAC transactions.
In 2022, Owen was recognized by China Business Law Journal as one of The A-List Elite Lawyers for China market.
Work Experience
Owen Wang joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2020. Prior to that, he served as a member of senior management at a large Chinese conglomerate in charge of overseas investment and as a Board Director, the Board Secretary and a member of Executive Committee of a large multinational company. Prior to that, he practiced law at Sullivan & Cromwell LLP in New York and Ropes & Gray LLP in Hong Kong.
Mr. Wang graduated from Peking University with a Bachelor of Law degree, and received his Master’s degree from Tsinghua University and his J.D., Magna Cum Laude, from The University of Michigan.
Mr. Wang is dually qualified in New York State, the United States and China. Mr. Wang is also a CFA charterholder.
Owen Wang’s working languages are Mandarin Chinese and English.
