Wang Maohua's practice is focused on the development of intellectual property assets for high technology corporations, with particular focus on patent prosecution and patent dispute resolution, intellectual property due diligence and patent strategic counselling.
Mr. Wang has nearly 30 years of experience counselling clients in the areas of high technology industries, including semiconductors, integrated circuits, computer science, telecommunications, automatic control and domestic appliances etc.. He has prosecuted thousands of patent applications and has accumulated a wealth of experience in patent application review, patent invalidation, patent administrative litigation and infringement litigation. In recent years, he has led the team to handle hundreds of high-profile patent invalidation and litigation cases, receiving high recognition from clients and the industry. In addition, Mr. Wang advises clients regularly on IP portfolio management, IP licensing and utilization, and IP risk prevention and control etc.

Mr. Wang is an Executive Director of All-China Patent Attorneys Association, Chairman of China Branch of AIPPI's Standards and Patents Committee, Vice Chairman of Beijing Patent Attorneys Association and Chief Supervisor of Capital Intellectual Property Services Association.
Work experience
Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons in 2001, Mr. Wang worked at China Electric Power Research Institute (CEPRI), and then served as a patent attorney at the CCPIT Patent and Trademark Law Office.
He obtained his B. Eng. from North China Electric Power University and his M. Eng. from the CEPRI. He was admitted as a Chinese patent attorney in 1994 and a Chinese lawyer in 1998.
Mr. Wang is proficient in Chinese and English.
