Mr. Tang Jianjun specializes in intellectual property litigation.
He has extensive experience and expertise in intellectual property after nearly 30 years of practice in this area. He has advised a large number of organizations on the development of trademark strategies and planning schemes, and has represented many well-known enterprises in numerous IP cases, including disputes concerning trademark granting and ownership confirmation, trademark infringement, unfair competition and plant variety rights. Mr. Tang has secured success in many high-profile cases for his clients, including the key clients Sakura Bath & Kitchen Products (China) Co., Ltd., Dental Doctor Medical Holding Group Co., Ltd., Redant Decoration Co., Ltd., Suzhou Deyuelou Drinks &Food Co., Ltd. and Suzhou Songhelou Catering Management Co., Ltd.
Mr. Tang’s practice covers a wide range of IP litigation matters, including trademark, unfair competition disputes, and trade secrets. He is well recognized for his work in a number of major and complex cases, including the recognition of well-known trademark "Songhelou", and the registration of the geographical indication "Bacheng Yangchenghu" crab. Over the years, Mr. Tang has led a large number of administrative or civil litigation cases involving trademark and unfair competition, including the "Sakura Bath & Kitchen" trademark infringement and unfair competition cases, "Fuji Elevator" trademark administrative and civil cases, the "Dental Doctor" trademark infringement and unfair competition cases, all of which are typical cases.
Work Experience
Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons in 2020, Mr. Tang was a partner of Justwin Law Firm in Jiangsu province. He also worked at the Suzhou Administration for Industry and Commerce, and served as the director of Suzhou Xinsu Trademark Office.
Mr. Tang graduated from East China University of Political Science and Law with a LLB degree in International Economic Law in 1993. He attended the first AOTS Advanced Class on Industrial Property Rights in Japan from February to March 1997, and the postgraduate program in Civil and Commercial Law at Renmin University of China from November 2015 to November 2017. He was licensed to practice law in China in 1996.
