Mr. Eli Han specializes in capital markets, structured financing, complex financial products, private investment funds, and securities and financial market regulations.

Mr. Han is an experienced transactional and regulatory attorney, with work experiences at both Wall Street law firms and global financial institutions.  He has broad knowledge and experience in capital market transactions, in particular, capital market transactions relating to complex security and non-security financial products.  He has represented leading sell-side global financial institutions in securities offerings, and advised major buy-side asset and investment managers in structuring different types of offering and investment vehicles. He has sophisticated knowledge of the SEC/FINRA regulatory regime on securities transactions, broker-dealers and registered investment advisors, and extensive knowledge of the CFTC/NFA regulatory regime on commodity futures trading and Dodd-Frank swap transactions.  Thanks to his experience as an internal counsel at two premier global banks, he has also acquired deep understanding of the legal and compliance functions, control processes, organizational structures, and policies and procedures at global financial institutions.

Work Experience

Mr. Han joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2017.  Prior to joining KWM, Mr. Han was a partner with MagStone Law, LLP in New York, and an associate attorney with the New York office of Davis Polk & Wardwell LLP and Schulte Roth & Zabel, LLP. While at Davis Polk, Mr. Han also served on two secondment assignments, one at the Compliance Department of Deutsche Bank's Investment Banking Division, and the other at the Legal Department of JPMorgan Asset Management.

Mr. Han received a J.D. from Cornell Law School and a Ph.D. in political theory and analytical philosophy from the University of Connecticut.

Mr. Han is admitted to practice in the State of New York.
