Mr. Cong Qunji specialises in domestic and overseas capital markets (equity and bonds), investment and financing, restructuring and M&A, compliance and risk response of listed companies.
With extensive experience in cross-border capital markets (including the return of red chips or H shares to A share market, secondary listings in Hong Kong, domestic and overseas spin-off listing) and large and medium-sized complex restructuring transactions, Mr. Cong has served many clients from high-end manufacturing, semiconductors, alternative energy, healthcare, consumer goods, finance and many other sectors.
Mr. Cong has led numerous large and medium-sized domestic and overseas capital market projects such as the A-share listings of China Telecommunications Corporation and Foxconn Industrial Internet Co., Ltd, the U.S. listing of Alibaba, the H-share and A-share listing of China International Capital Corporation Limited, the H-share listing of China Everbright Bank Co., Ltd, the issuance of domestic and overseas preference shares by the Industrial and Commercial Bank of China Limited, the issuance of overseas preference shares by China Cinda Asset Management Co., Ltd., and the Hong Kong listings of red-chip companies and privatisation of many listed companies.
Mr. Cong has advised many domestic and overseas venture capital funds, private equity investment funds and strategic investors on their investment in/withdraw from related industries in China. He also counsels new economy enterprises and high-growth companies on private placement, restructuring, equity incentives, investment and M&A, and operation compliance.
In addition, he has worked on securities compliance projects of listed companies with market capitalisation of hundreds of billions, dozens of domestic and overseas bond financing projects and risk response projects of financial institutions.
Mr. Cong was honoured as a “Rising Star” in the capital market by IFLR1000. Many matters handled by him were recognised as the “Outstanding Stock Market Deal of the Year” by China Law & Practice, the “Dear of the Year” in China Market by China Business Law Journal (CBLJ), the “Private Equity Deal of the Year” by the Asian Lawyer, the “Deal of the Year” and “TMT Deal of the Year” by the ALB.

Mr. Cong joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2012.
He received his LLB and Bachelor's degree in economics from Peking University.
He is a licensed PRC lawyer.
