As an international, diverse and innovative legal service provider, KWM established the KWM Belt & Road Center for International Cooperation and Facilitation (BRCICF) in 2019 with an aim to connect the government and enterprises, and to provide high-quality professional services to both Chinese and foreign participators who want to explore the opportunity brought by the BRI. To date, KWM has advised on more than 1,000 BRI projects and matters, covering key sectors such as energy, transportation, information, infrastructure, finance, manufacturing and services in 65 countries along the Belt and Road.
KWM lawyers have written a number of articles on a range of legal issues and practices in BRI investment and financing, international engineering, dispute resolution, and energy investment based on their own practical experience in BRI projects. To celebrate the 30th anniversary of KWM China, BRCICF is releasing a series of publications on BRI law and practice. The third volume of this series, The BRI Law and Practice – Investing in Energy and Alternative Energy, focuses on legal risks and issues relating to investments in both traditional and alternative energy sectors. It also delves into the relevant investment environment, legislation and policies in key BRI countries, providing insights and experience of our lawyers across different perspectives. It is intended to provide an enlightening reference for readers investing and doing business in this field.
