Over the past two years, China has successively introduced new regulations on cybersecurity, data protection and anti-monopoly. The Data Security Law and the Personal Information Protection Law took effect in the second half of 2021. The revised Anti-monopoly Law came into force on 1 August 2022 after 14 years of implementation. Furthermore, the supporting national standards and departmental regulations as well as local regulations and policies on data security and personal information protection have also been rolled out.
