As China continues to strengthen its anti-monopoly efforts and prevent the disorderly expansion of capital, the country’s anti-monopoly enforcement system has undergone tremendous changes. The year 2021 witnessed the introduction of the Anti-monopoly Guidelines for Platform Economy, the Draft Revisions to the PRC Anti-monopoly Law, and local compliance guidelines, as well as the official establishment of the State Anti-monopoly Bureau. All the changes herald the dawning of tightened anti-monopoly regulation. For enterprises, anti-monopoly compliance should be their top priority.

This pamphlet covers the key issues in the anti-monopoly development in 2021, including the revision of the Anti-monopoly Law, anti-monopoly compliance in the areas of platform economy and API, and merger filing. It is a product of King & Wood Mallesons’ anti-monopoly team based on years of practical experience. We hope that it will help you to better deal with the increasingly challenging anti-monopoly legal environment.
