On 22 October 2018, Yang Xiaoli, partner at King & Wood Mallesons (KWM), was nominated as one of 2018 ALB China Top 15 Female Lawyers by Asian Legal Business (ALB) for her exceptional capability in her intellectual property practice and the high recognition she has received from the industry and her clients. The ranking involves female lawyers active in all areas of Chinese legal market, and ALB selected the Top 15 based on various factors including major achievements, significant transactions or cases, major works done in the past 12 months, clients the candidate represents, and the comments from her clients and peers.

Ms. Yang Xiaoli specializes in intellectual property matters. With over 25 years of experience, she has represented many multi-national companies in all area of trademarks including prosecution, dispute resolution, negotiator, acquisition, licensing and enforcement and protection of trademarks. She also advises her clients on copyright, unfair competition, domain name disputes resolution related issues.  Her clients include many Fortune 500 companies in diversified industries.  She helps them develop appropriate branding and protection strategies for their key trademarks in China and abroad.  Her deep understanding of the client's needs and her practical and pragmatic approaches to solve the client's issues of concern have gained high recognition and deep trust from her clients.  For many years she has been recognized as a top-tier practitioner in her field by many renowned legal publications home and abroad.   She was the chief outside counsel advising on the intellectual property matters involving Beijing Olympic Games, and helped build up a large and strong portfolio of IP rights for the Games to enjoy the efficient and effective protection of such rights.  She continues to represent International Olympic Committee for its trademark and domain name issues in China after the Games, and her experience, expertise and capability to serve her clients' needs has been highly regarded by her clients and peers as exceptional.   

Ms. Yang Xiaoli is also known for her management capability of the firm's ever-growing and successful trademark team.  She was a founding member of the firm's trademark practice, and the team has grown from a small band of talents to a group of nearly 80 experienced trademark professionals.  The firm's trademark practice has been ranked as Tier 1 for both contentious and non-contentious work by all leading industry publications for many consecutive years.   Ms. Yang is the lead partner of the trademark practice and a member of the Management Team of the KWM Intellectual Property Practice Group.
