Landing 12 awards, King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) was the biggest winner of the night at the Thomson Reuters ALB China Law Awards 2018 held in Beijing on 19 April, 2018. KWM was awarded three of the most coveted awards including, "China Law Firm of the Year", "Dealmaker of the Year" and "Deal of the Year-China", as well as four deal awards and five practice awards.

Deal Awards:
- Debt Market Deal of the Year: Alibaba Group completes US$7 billion investment grade notes offering
- Equity Market Deal of the Year: China Unicom's mixed ownership reform
- Energy& Resources Deal of the Year: Yancoal in all aspects of its US$2.45 billion acquisition of Australian coal operation assets from Rio Tinto
- Technology, Media and Telecommunications Deal of the Year: China Unicom's mixed ownership reform
- China Deal of the Year: Alibaba Group completes US$7 billion investment grade notes offering
Firm Awards:
- Anti-trust & Competition Law Firm of the Year
- Banking Law Firm of the Year
- Regulatory Compliance Law Firm of the Year
- Employment Law Firm of the Year
- Insolvency & Restructuring Law Firm of the Year
Individual Award:
- Dealmaker of the Year - China: Wang Lixin
Among the awards, KWM won Banking Law Firm of the Year for the third consecutive year, Debt Market Deal of the Year for the fifth consecutive year, and TMT Deal of the Year for the fourth consecutive year, further recognising the KWM team's excellence in remaining ahead of the curve and continuous innovation.
