In January 2018, Shanda Games Limited ("Shanda Games") has officially introduced in strategic investor Tencent . Following this transaction, Tencent will hold 11.83% equity of Shanda Games, becoming its second largest shareholder.
Shanda Games is a leading online game developer, publisher and operator in China. It has launched more than 70 online games such as Legend of Mir II, The World of Legend and Dragon Nest, with more than 1.8 billion registered users. Tencent is a largest Internet comprehensive services provider serving the largest online community in China. As two leading online game companies in China, both sides will further strengthen their competitive strengths and deepen their cooperation through the strategic investment, and eventually the transaction will be of great significance for the future development of the two companies.
