In January 2020, King & Wood Mallesons ("KWM") welcomes Mr. Ren Zhanjiang and Mr. Cai Haidong to join KWM Shandong office with their team. As widely recognized and highly influential professionals in Shandong market, the two new partners both specialize in domestic and overseas litigation and arbitration, international investment and financing, corporate and other legal matters. Mr. Yan Anran and Mr. Xiao Wei who joined alongside the team focus on contentious and non-contentious matters in real estate and construction. Over ten other team members mainly provide such legal services as government affairs, dispute resolution, foreign investment, and M&A. Mr. Ren graduated from Northwest University of Political Science and Law with his bachelor's degree and received his LL.M and MBA degrees respectively from Shandong University and Missouri State University. He has been to the United States and the European Union several times to study and receive trainings. With over 20 years of experience, Mr. Ren is a good negotiator and mediator and has led several high profile cases. Furthermore, together with his team, he has advised a number of listed companies, real estate companies and major energy groups across industries including machinery manufacturing, energy, electricity, medicine, finance, high technology, and real estate. Mr. Ren now serves as the director of Foreign-Related Dispute Resolution Committee of Shandong Lawyers Association, and an arbitrator of CIETAC and Jinan Arbitration Commission. He was successively included in the legal expert databases of Shandong Provincial Party Committee, Provincial Government and Provincial People's Political Consultative Conference. In addition, he was recognized by Chambers Asia-Pacific 2020 as a Leading Lawyer in Corporate/Commercial: East Coast: Shandong.
Mr. Cai obtained his LL.B and LL.M from Zhongnan University of Economics and Law. He successively worked as a partner in two large law firms in Shandong. He once studied and received professional trainings in University of California and Brooklyn Law School, and developed an international perspective. Mr. Cai has been listed in the "National List of Top 1000 International Lawyers in China" by the Ministry of Justice and serves as a special mediator for Shandong Higher People's Court. He understands the legal service market in Shandong well, and advises a large number of listed companies, financial institutions and large SOEs. Moreover, Mr. Cai has extensive experience in dealing with major, difficult and complicated commercial litigations and arbitrations, bond issue and M&A. He is widely recognized by clients for providing innovative and practical comprehensive solutions in numerous projects.
