On 30 October 2020, King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) will officially launch another 9 CloudOffices in Shijiazhuang, Hainan Free Trade Port (Hainan FTP), Tianjin, Hefei, Ningbo, Nanchang, Changsha, Qin-Ao and Taipei, while officially rolling out the KWM Cloud platform. Following the prior launch of the seven CloudOffices on 17 April this year, the move represents another step of KWM to extend its cloud-based legal service reach under the guidance of national policies and in response to the demands of local markets. KWM keeps enhancing the service delivery of its Cloud team, and steadily advancing its Cloud service platform and model. Up to now, KWM has 44 offices worldwide, including 28 physical offices and 16 CloudOffices*, providing strong support to more clients through innovative models and unified premium professional services.
The firm is proactive in seizing the historic opportunity of economic development by delivering client-centric services. While pushing forward the construction of the first batch of seven CloudOffices, we have also accumulated experience in various aspects and tapped into the firm's resources to launch the second batch of CloudOffices. Among the new CloudOffices, Hainan FTP CloudOffice will support the construction of Hainan FTP and integrate the resources of the Haikou and Sanya offices to achieve online and offline integration; and the Qin-Ao CloudOffice will further strengthen KWM's presence in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area (GBA) and provide more support for the development of the booming area. At the same time, these new CloudOffices further complete KWM's footprint in the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei region, Central China and East China, unleashing more energy both internally and externally through a combination of "virtual and physical" business models. The number of CloudOffices is increasing, and so is the size of the CloudOffice teams, expanding from an initial team of 29 partners to a "Cloud" legal services team of over 100 partners that attracts partners and advisors/senior associates from all over the world. Through the "Qingyun Program", KWM has recruited a large number of in-house consultants and senior associates to join and build up the CloudOffice, thus further reserving talent resources for the CloudOffice.
