We are pleased to welcome Dr. Gordan Gao, a renowned figure in the field of intellectual property (IP), and three other IP partners Sherry Yao, Zhang Xuting and Cassidy Guo to King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) in May 2022.
Dr. Gordan Gao
Dr. Gordan Gao has a strong track record in intellectual property. He specialises in IP litigation, including complex patent, trade secret, trademark, and copyright litigation. His practice covers IP-related litigation concerning antitrust, licensing rates for standard essential patents, and end-of-patent-life litigation for pharmaceutical products. He provides services for clients in the semiconductor, communications, pharmaceuticals, medical devices and other technology sectors. With a profound understanding of the litigation practice and extensive experience in case management, he develops appropriate strategies and plans to protect clients’ rights and interests to the maximum extent. Before joining KWM, he worked successively in the Hong Kong office of an international law firm and at Fangda Partners.
Sherry Yao
Sherry Yao focuses on IP litigation, IP advisory, legal contracts and other related matters. Her clients include well-known domestic and foreign enterprises in many fields such as pharmaceuticals, medical devices and electronic communications. Ms. Yao excels at complex drug patent cases. Holding a doctor's degree in biochemistry, she has years of scientific research practice, with a solid technical background in pharmaceutical related fields. Before joining KWM, she worked at an American law firm and Fangda Partners.
Zhang Xuting
Zhang Xuting specialises in IP contentious and non-contentious matters. She is proficient in dealing with all kinds of IP cases, including patent, trademark, copyright and trade secret litigation, anti-unfair competition and other disputes, as well as IP consulting services. She has worked on a large number of complex cases and achieved favourable results for her clients. Before joining KWM, Ms. Zhang worked at Fangda Partners. Before that, she worked in the Intellectual Property Group at KWM Beijing office.
Cassidy Guo
Cassidy Guo specialises in IP litigation and related anti-monopoly and anti-unfair competition litigation. She has a wealth of experience in representing technology companies in IP disputes, including patent infringement and invalidation, trade secrets and software copyright disputes as well as related non-contentious matters. Before joining KWM, she worked at Fangda Partners.
These four partners are currently on board at the firm and will be registered with the Bureau of Justice in accordance with the relevant regulations.
