KWM Assists Tsingtao Brewery Group on its Acquisition of Nestlé S.A’s Healthy Drinking Water Business in Mainland China

On 28 August 2020, Tsingtao Brewery Group Company Limited ("Tsingtao Brewery") and Nestlé S.A ("Nestlé") entered into a series of agreements, pursuant to which Tsingtao Brewery will acquire the entire equity interests of Nestlé Sources Shanghai Limited, Nestlé Sources Tianjin Limited and Yunnan Dashan Drinks Co., Ltd., which own and control Nestlé's entire water production business in China.

Tsingtao Brewery is a beer and beverage enterprise with a globally recognized brand and widespread sales channels. Nestlé is a world-renowned food manufacturer and one of the leaders in the global bottled water industry. Nestlé Pure Life, Dashan and Yunnan Spring bottled water brands are well known to consumers in the Chinese market.

Tsingtao Brewery is an important strategic client of King & Wood Mallesons (KWM). In this transaction, KWM acted as the legal counsel of Tsingtao Brewery. KWM has continuously driven the transaction in a diligent and professional manner and facilitated the signing of a series of agreements between the two parties.
