In December 2020, King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) Shenzhen and Nanjing offices welcomed a new partner respectively, and Beijing and Chongqing offices brought in three counsels. All these five lawyers have been working in their respective fields for many years, which helped them accumulate a wealth of practice experience. Their practice areas cover securities, capital markets, finance, private equity, dispute resolution, among others, providing valuable impetus for the firm's steady development in local markets.

New partner in Shenzhen office

David Mu's primary practice area is finance and capital markets. He has rich cross-border practice experience in financial derivatives, cross-border structured transactions, financial innovation, and financial regulatory compliance. Mr. Mu provides all-round legal services to clients in QFII, QDII, inter-bank markets, over-the-counter derivatives (ISDA, NAFMII or GMRA), structured notes, etc. This time, he was transferred from Hong Kong office to Shenzhen office. Prior to joining KWM, Mr. Mu worked at Linklaters (Hong Kong).

New partner in Nanjing office:

Ding Zheng's primary practice area is securities and capital markets. Prior to joining KWM, she worked as a partner in a well-known law firm in China. In the past ten years, she followed closely the pace and trend of market development, deeply rooted in the legal service market in Jiangsu, and led a large number of capital market projects such as private equity fund investment, IPO and listing on the NEEQ, asset restructuring and private offering.

Recently recruited counsels and their practice areas:

Dispute Resolution: Cheng Bing (Beijing), Li Yingqi (Beijing), and Lv Lei (Chongqing)

KWM Managing Partner Wang Ling commented, "Welcome new partners and counsels to KWM! 2020 is an unusual year. While doing a good job in pandemic prevention and control, the firm steadily proceeded with the operation of the firm, among which talent recruitment and training is one of our priorities. I believe your joining will build our strength in cross-team integration and in-depth exploration of regional markets. As the New Year rings in, I am very happy to join hands with you in the new year ahead."
