Suzhou Dawning Semi Technology Co., Ltd. (DAWNSEMI) recently completed the acquisition of 100% stake in Sicoya GmbH (Sicoya). Despite uncertainties such as the new German foreign investment review regulations, the deal was approved by the German government and closed in October 2021 after 14 months from the signing of the SPA in August 2020.
Sicoya, founded in January 2015, is a Berlin-based silicon photonics technology company that develops, manufactures and sells silicon photonic chips, optoelectronic chips, optoelectronic devices and optical modules. DAWNSEMI is a next-generation global leader in the silicon photonics field established by a group of top semiconductor and optical communication technology specialists and operation managers at Zhangjiagang Shazhouhu Science Park, Suzhou in July 2020.
