On 1 November 2018, Ms. Huang Ling, an legal expert with intensive experience in the areas of cross-border M&A, private equity and foreign direct investment transactions from a top tier Wall Street law firm, joined King & Wood Mallesons ("KWM") as a partner.
Prior to joining KWM, Ms. Huang was a partner at Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton LLP ("Cleary Gottlieb"), as well as the chief representative of the Beijing office and head of the China M&A practice of Cleary Gottlieb. Before that, Ms. Huang spent more than 14 years at Shearman & Sterling LLP. In the past two decades, Ms. Huang has been focusing on cross-border M&A transactions involving various industries, types of transactions and different regions. She has represented a great number of large Chinese State-owned enterprises, well-known private-owned companies and international private equity firms in domestic and cross-border mergers and acquisitions, investments and joint venture transactions. Ms. Huang also has significant experience in advising Fortune 500 companies and multinational conglomerates in foreign direct investment transactions in China. Ms. Huang has joined KWM's global platform and become a member of KWM's U.S. management team, and will further improve KWM's capabilities in cross-border M&A, private equity, foreign direct investments and capital markets. She will contribute to the establishment and expansion of the firm's presence in the U.S. and China and build up and lead a first-tier team to provide high quality legal services to our clients.
