Areas of Practice

Ms. Su specializes in WTO dispute settlement, international investment arbitration and international trade, and complex regulatory and market access issues.

Ms. Su has extensive experience in the area of international trade and investment law. She is one of the few domestic lawyers who has represented the Chinese government in WTO dispute settlement cases.  Over the years, Ms. Su has provided legal advice to the Chinese government and enterprises on international economic and trade rules in various fields, including trade remedy measures, intergovernmental treaty negotiations on investment, trade, environment, and international rules on state-owned enterprise. Ms. Su has also served as the leader of multiple research projects for relevant government departments on international economic and trade agreements, including the Comprehensive and Progressive Agreement for Trans-Pacific Partnership (CPTPP), the Regional Comprehensive Economic Partnership (RCEP) and etc.

In addition, Ms. Su has rich experience in advising clients on major economic and trade policies of the European Union and the United States. She has represented clients in responding to investigations under the EU Foreign Subsidies Regulation, planning ESG compliance approaches and addressing complexes issues relating to the localization of supply chains.  Ms. Su also has a deep foundation in the fields of international investment agreements and international investment arbitration. She acted as the legal advisor to the Ministry of Commerce of China in the Bilateral Investment Treaty negotiation between China and the United States from 2014 to 2016, and has assisted the Chinese government and companies in international investment treaty arbitrations (including ICSID arbitrations).

Ms. Su also regularly advises on complex regulatory, compliance and market access issues for domestic and foreign companies, including Internet regulation, content distribution, telecommunications licensing, commercial cryptography, payment services and prepaid cards, consumer protection, cybersecurity and data export, game operation, and etc.

Ms. Su has been recognized by The Legal 500 Asia Pacific as one of the Highly Recommended Individuals in WTO/International Trade for two consecutive years, in both 2023 and 2024.

Work Experience

Ms. Su joined KWM in 2011. She has been seconded to two leading technology companies during her years at KWM.

Ms. Su graduated from Zhejiang University, Graduate with Distinction, LL.B., and Georgetown University Law Center, Graduate with Distinction, Dean's List, LL.M. She also obtained a Certificate in WTO & International Trade Studies from the Institute of International Economics Law at Georgetown University.
