Mona Lan focuses on tax dispute resolution, tax compliance and planning, tax advisory, and private wealth tax planning.
She represents clients in significant tax-related investigations, administrative reviews and arbitration/litigation proceedings. She navigates the complexities and challenges, seeking the best results for clients.
Ms. Lan advises on tax compliance and optimisation for a wide array of transactions, including M&As, private investment, red-chip structure building and dismantling, and restructuring before domestic or overseas listing. She also provides advice on overall business and transaction arrangements to help maximise tax benefits while ensuring compliance. She offers practical business solutions for enterprises. In addition, she also assists clients in identifying tax risks and establishing and improving compliance systems.
Ms. Lan also has extensive experience in private wealth tax planning, including tax planning for family businesses/family members, asset structuring and international planning.
Her clients span across a broad range of industries, including pharmaceuticals, internet, consumer goods, cultural, entertainment and sports, investment funds, manufacturing, automobile, real estate and finance.
Work Experience
Ms. Lan joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2016.
She graduated from Xiamen University and Leiden University successively, with her bachelor’s degree in Law and her master’s degrees in Economic Law and International Tax Law respectively.
Ms. Lan is qualified to practise law in the PRC.
Her working languages are Chinese and English.
