Ms. Liu Yang specialises in arbitration and litigation, with a particular focus on cross-broader disputes.

Ms. Liu has extensive hands-on experience in domestic and international arbitration and litigation. She has handled multiple complex and cutting-edge cross-border disputes. She is well-versed in the decision-making process and operation of domestic and international arbitral tribunals and institutions, including the International Chamber of Commerce International Court of Arbitration (ICC), the China International Economic and Trade Arbitration Commission (CIETAC), the Hong Kong International Arbitration Centre (HKIAC), the London Court of International Arbitration (LCIA), the American Arbitration Association (AAA), the Singapore International Arbitration Centre (SIAC), the Beijing Arbitration Commission (BAC), the Federation of Oils, Seeds and Fats Associations (FOSFA), the International Institute for Conflict Prevention & Resolution (CPR (US)), and various domestic arbitration commissions.

Ms. Liu handles a wide range of disputes, especially in the fields of international contruction, corporate control, joint venture, private equity and venture capital, product quality and international trade. These disputes involve various types of legal issues relating to contract law, tort law, corporate law, the recognition and enforcement of arbitral awards and others. She plays a leading role in many international arbitration and cross-border litigation cases, excelling in aspects such as fact-finding, strategy development, and witness examination. She has notable attention to details, making arguments with clarity and decisiveness. Moreover, she combines international perspectives with her local experience and takes both legal and commercial considerations into account when providing practical and creative litigation strategies, winning recognition from her clients.

She worked on cases that received public recognition. For instance, a FIDIC contract dispute (DAB and ICC arbitration) was selected as an outstanding foreign-related case by the Beijing Lawyers Association in 2021, and an African construction dispute (ICC arbitration) made the Typical Case List of the Belt and Road Initiative Excellent Legal Services by the Legal Daily.
