Li Hui's practice focuses on  intellectual property law services regarding patent validity and infringement analysis, patent invalidation, patent administrative litigation and infringement litigation, trade secret dispute resolution, IP management and due diligence, technology transfer and licensing, etc.

Li Hui has worked with automatic controls, electrical engineering, semiconductor, computer software and hardware, communication equipment, household appliances, electronic devices, mechanical engineering, and other fields.   

Li Hui has handled many well-known electrical and mechanical patent invalidations and infringement disputes, patent ownership disputes, trade secret criminal and civil disputes, etc.   Mr. Li 's representative cases include: 

  • Represented Baidu in handling a series of patent invalidation and infringement cases which were known as "No. 1 Internet software patent dispute in China";

  • Represented ABB to win a re-trial final judgment in patent case before  the Supreme People's Court; 

  • Represented an a giant company  in handling a series of patent invalidation and infringement cases regarding SEP and no-SEP;  

  • Represented an international company to win a series of patent invalidation cases;   

  • Represented the client in handling a series of patent ownership and trade secret disputes. 

Mr.Li also advised on patent and trade secret protection, technology transfer and licensing for many international and Chinese companies. 

Work experience

Li Hui joined King & Wood Mallesons in 2006.  Before joining King & Wood Mallesons he worked for a well known patent firm.  Prior to this he worked at Xi'an Jiaotong University to engage in technology transfer service 

Li Hui earned Bachelors in Law from Xi'an Jiaotong University, and a Masters in Engineering from Tsinghua University. He was admitted as a patent agent in 2006, and was admitted to the bar in 2007.
