Areas of practice

Mr. David Tsang specialises in domestic and overseas listing and refinancing, major asset restructuring of listed companies, domestic and overseas bond financing, trust, asset securitisation, private equity fund formation and investment, bankruptcy and restructuring, etc.

Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons in 2008, Mr. Tsang had served for many years in one of the largest international law firms in Hong Kong. He was admitted as a PRC qualified lawyer in 1999 as well as a Solicitor to the High Court of Hong Kong in 2004. With abundant experience in domestic and overseas listing, he counsels state-owned, private, and foreign-invested enterprises on restructuring and reorganisation, pre-IPO financing, and domestic and overseas initial public offerings. Mr. Tsang also advises on reverse acquisitions of overseas public companies by PRC companies. In addition, Mr. Tsang has extensive experience in advising on the acquisition of PRC companies by overseas investors. Mr. Tsang is the perennial legal counsel for a number of medium and large companies, with a wealth of experience in industries including automotive, mineral and energy, construction materials, food processing, financial services, and pharmaceuticals. In recent years, Mr. Tsang has advised on several projects concerning the preparation and mixed reform investment of large state-owned private equity funds, as well as the debt restructuring and bankruptcy reorganisation of large state-owned enterprises.

Work experience

Mr. Tsang joined in King & Wood Mallesons in 2008. Prior to joining King & Wood Mallesons, He worked at one of the largest international law firms for several years in Hong Kong.

He holds an LL.M. from the University of London, a PCLL from the City University of Hong Kong, and an LL.B. from Xiamen University. He is admitted as a Solicitor to the High Court of Hong Kong as well as a PRC qualified lawyer.

Mr. Tsang is fluent in Mandarin, Cantonese, and English.
