King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) continues expansion in Singapore with new partner appointments.
John Shum joins from White & Case where he operated a successful cross-jurisdictional banking practice, with expertise in traditional bank lending, structured finance, project finance, and restructuring.
He has a strong track record of advising high profile financial institutions in the region, including a number of local and Chinese banks.
Will McCosker transfers from the firm's Sydney office to support the firm's existing capability in international funds and further increase connectivity between KWM's offices in the Asia Pacific.
KWM Global Chief Executive Partner, Sue Kench said:
"Singapore is a key market for our clients given its role as a financial and trading hub and a gateway for investments into China, Australia, India and around South East Asia. Building a strong Singapore presence is critical as we continue to establish KWM as Asia's top tier international law firm.
The addition of John and Will to the Singapore partnership will further strengthen our client offering in the region."
John is expected to join in October. Will relocated to the Singapore office in August of this year.
