Following a flurry of recent activity in Australia's renewable energy sector, King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) advised Netherlands-based DIF and Australia's Lighthouse Infrastructure on the acquisition of Clare Solar Farm.
Located in North Queensland, the 125 megawatt Clare Solar Farm project is expected to be completed and generating power within 12-months.
The KWM team was led by Partners Rod Smythe and Scott Gardiner, supported by Partners Shannon Etwell and Mal Brennan, Senior Associates Jonathan Mitchell and John Tanner and Solicitor Lachlan Fahey.
Commenting on the deal, Rod said investors are currently seeking Australian renewable opportunities, with both DIF and Lighthouse Infrastructure already active in the renewables market.
"This sale represents the latest in a series of significant matters KWM has completed in Australia's growing renewables market, with the firm offering experience across project development, project financing, acquisitions and divestments."
Recent examples of KWM's renewables experience include the Bungala Solar Project, Badgingarra Wind Farm, Silverton Wind Farm development and Ross River Solar Farm
