King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has been awarded Best Program Relaunch (Gold Award) and Best Overall Program (Bronze Award) at the 2018 Workplace Giving Excellence Awards, held at CBA in Sydney on Tuesday evening (20 November).
The awards celebrate outstanding workplace giving programs and performers in Australia and were entered by 60 organisations across the country.
KWM relaunched its pro bono and community program in July this year, with a renewed focus on reducing inequality and poverty, and ways in which the firm can have a sustained and significant impact in this area. The program is headed up by Chief Executive Partner, Australia, Berkley Cox, and Dan Creasey, Head of Pro Bono and Community Impact.
"We are incredibly proud of KWM's unique workplace giving culture and strong community spirit," Berkeley said of the achievement.
"We take very seriously our responsibility to create positive change in the community and are delighted to have been recognised with these awards."
"The success of the program relaunch is the result of the ongoing commitment of KWM's pro bono and community impact team in conjunction with the wider firm. The measurable impact we have on the community is a true team effort," Dan commented.
KWM has a strong history of working with the community and contributes via three streams; pro bono legal services, specialist and community services and philanthropy.
