King & Wood Mallesons' (KWM) lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender, intersex (LGBTI) inclusion network, LINK, has reaffirmed its commitment to LGBTI inclusion and equality through a strategic partnership with the Human Rights Law Centre's (HRLC) LGBTI Rights Unit.
The partnership sits under KWM's community impact program, KWM in the Community.
LINK, KWM in the Community and the HRLC will be hosting a series of briefings across Perth, Sydney and Melbourne throughout 2018, focusing on the topic of 'LGBTI equality in Australia after marriage equality – where to next?'
The events will discuss recent wins, including how legal support was crucial to marriage equality becoming a reality, and future areas of reform across Australia.
The partnership is a first for the firm's LINK group, which was established in 2016 with the goals of supporting any issues of inclusion faced by LGBTI employees, better celebrating and enhancing the LGBTI experience in the workplace and empowering each individual to bring their whole self to work each day.
The firm was awarded 'Silver Employer Status' at the 2017 Australian LGBTI Inclusion Awards hosted by Pride in Diversity, placing us in the top 20% of participating Australian companies.
