King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has launched an Australian-first virtual experience program with start-up company, Inside Sherpa.

KWM is the first law firm in Australia to provide an online platform to give students the opportunity to complete similar work to what the firm's Graduates and junior Solicitors do each day.

Through the online program, participants can undertake up to five modules, related to Asia Experience, Transactional, Innovation Pro Bono and Disputes. They will receive briefing videos from KWM Partners and lawyers, and will be asked to complete tasks including drafting documents, communicating with clients, understanding smart contracts, working with our community partners and analysing and advising on corporate legal matters.

Chief Executive Partner Berkeley Cox said; "KWM is leading the future of graduate recruitment in law – no other firm in Australia is doing this or anything similar yet. We are providing a realistic and accessible opportunity for students to learn what it is like working at one of the world's leading international law firms, and build skills required to excel as a commercial lawyer."

"The program provides a true insight into life at a top tier firm – it does not shy away from the sometimes challenging, complex and interesting tasks our grads undertake each day. It meets the strong desire we have found from students and young graduates to build their skills in the profession and learn more about what a career in law will hold."

InsideSherpa is an Australian start-up by KWM alumni Thomas Brunskill and former Head of Acquisitions at, Pasha Rayan. InsideSherpa is backed by Navitas Ventures and H2 Ventures and aims to bridge the gap between students and firms through virtual programs.
