King & Wood Mallesons advised CSIRO on the establishment of new investment vehicle, FutureFeed, which will commercialise a seaweed product found to dramatically reduce methane emissions from cattle.
FutureFeed's initial investors include CSIRO, GrainCorp, Woolworths, Harvest Road and AGP Sustainable Real Assets-Sparklabs Cultiv8, and its innovative seaweed-based feed additive is considered 'game-changing' for the global livestock industry.
The KWM team advising on the transaction was led by Anthony Boogert with support from Emma Warner.
Commenting on the transaction Anthony Boogert said: "We are delighted to have assisted CSIRO with the establishment of FutureFeed. It is great to see how CSIRO's world-class scientific expertise can lead to new industries in Australia that help tackle climate change."
