International law firm King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) is continuing to expand in the United States with the appointment of a Dispute Resolution team of 3 partners, 6 senior counsel and 1 paralegal from a highly regarded international firm in New York this month.
They join KWM's global Dispute Resolution practice, providing the capability and expertise to take on increased inbound work from the firm's existing market leading platforms in China, Australia and the EUME.
The incoming team have an impressive litigation track record and strong international reputation, having worked together for the past fifteen years.
Partner Mark Raskin is a highly experienced IP litigator with more than 20 years' experience across patent, trademark, trade secret and copyright litigation with particular emphasis on life sciences, biotechnology and pharmaceuticals. Mark has also worked as General Counsel of a US engineering and manufacturing organisation that specialises in military and aerospace products.
Partner Robert Whitman is a seasoned trial lawyer who has been litigating patent cases in federal courts and before the International Trade Commission for three decades. He specialises in electrical patent disputes, primarily in the high technology and semi-conductor fields.
Partner Vincent Filardo, Jr. has more than 20 years of experience as a commercial litigator and trial lawyer, who in addition to IP litigation also handles a variety of other matters including commercial contract disputes, trade secret and unfair competition, business tort, defamation, employment disputes, white collar, regulatory and civil fraud defense and prosecution and U.S. government and corporate investigations.
Together with senior counsels, Eric Berger, Michael DeVincenzo, Elizabeth Long, Andrea Pacelli, John Petrsoric, and Charles Wizenfeld they will complement KWM's existing dispute resolution practice and add significant depth and breadth to firm's global offering with specialist expertise across ten different practice areas: Complex Civil Litigation, IP and Patent Litigation, International Arbitration, Internal Investigations, White Collar Criminal and Regulatory Defense, Fraud and Asset Recovery, and Employment Litigation.
