King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) is delighted to welcome Sarah Yu to the partnership, strengthening the firm's financial services regulation team.

Sarah joins the KWM partnership from Herbert Smith Freehills, where she practiced for more than 20 years.

Specialising in superannuation and life insurance, Sarah has a strong track record advising high profile financial services organisations, including in relation to changes arising from the banking Royal Commission.

Commenting on Sarah's appointment, Evie Bruce, Managing Partner, Mergers & Acquisitions and Banking & Finance and Leader of the Financial Institutions Sector said:

"We are delighted to welcome Sarah to the KWM partnership. We have deliberately sought to maintain our genuine depth of capability across all financial services regulatory specialisations. Sarah's expertise in superannuation and life insurance will only further enhance our offering to clients."

Berkeley Cox, the firm's Chief Executive Partner, Australia, said that the Financial Institutions Sector is a key focus area for KWM.

"KWM's strong reputation in the market is built on the quality of our people and the outcomes they help our clients achieve. The importance of the superannuation industry will continue to increase and our clients continue to face significant regulatory challenges so we are deliberately investing in growing our existing cohort of experts with great people like Sarah to enable us to support our clients."

Sarah will join KWM in late July 2019.
