KWM COVID-19 response: new working arrangements for Australian offices

COVID-19 is a rapidly evolving situation impacting us all as we seek to protect the health, wellbeing and safety of our people, our clients and the broader community while managing the broader business implications.

At KWM we are introducing new working arrangements across all of our Australian offices.  From today, our offices will be open, but on a limited basis. We have asked all of our people in Australia to work remotely until further notice unless working in the office is absolutely essential for client matters where a physical presence is required and there are no appropriate alternative arrangements.

There will be a transition period over the next couple of days as we help our people and our clients prepare for this change and we will continue to review our position as the situation evolves.

What this means for you

  • We have the capability to provide our clients with a 'business as usual' service and are hopeful that any disruption can be managed and kept to a minimum.
  • Essential in person client meetings may still proceed, although we are aware that many of our clients now have restrictions on their people attending external meetings. Wherever possible we will provide alternative teleconference or webex/zoom arrangements.
  • We will have additional registration requirements for all visitors attending meetings on our premises. Clients and visitors who have travelled overseas within the past 14 days, come into close contact with a suspected or positive case of COVID-19 or are showing symptoms will be asked to conduct meetings by phone or video, rather than face-to-face.

Your relevant KWM partner or contact will be in touch about any upcoming meetings to confirm arrangements in light of these new measures, and to understand any restrictions that you and your business may have.
