King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) Australia received two accolades in the 2018 Financial Times Innovative Lawyers Awards, including the prestigious 'Innovation in the Business of Law' and 'Legal Leader' categories.

The launch of KWM's Virtual Experience Program, an Australian-first initiative with start-up company Inside Sherpa, won for the 'Innovation in the Business of Law' category - against significant competition from leading regional and national law firms.

This program, launched in January 2018, represented the first time a law firm in Australia had provided a free online platform to give students the opportunity to complete similar work to what the firm's Graduates and junior Solicitors do each day.

Global Chief Executive, Sue Kench was also recognised with the esteemed 'Legal leader' award, in recognition of her significant role in driving KWM's growth and success across APAC.

Chief Executive Partner, Australia, Berkeley Cox said "Our recognition for KWM's Virtual Experience Program reaffirms our firm's commitment to driving innovation across the legal profession, and in supporting the development of the next generation of lawyers."
