King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) has advised KKR on the launch of its first fund to be listed on the ASX, the KKR Credit Income Fund.

The fund will provide Australian and New Zealand investors with access to a diversified portfolio of income generating alternative credit investments through investment funds managed by KKR's credit investment teams.

The KWM team advising on the deal was led by partner, David Eliakim. Also advising on the transaction was partner, Jim Boynton; special counsel, Amanda Isouard; senior associates, Shabarika Ajitkumar and John Arthur and solicitors, Thomas Rust and Rhiannon Parker.

Commenting on the transaction David said: "We have a long history of working with the KKR private equity team and are very grateful for the opportunity to work alongside KKR's credit team on a high-profile matter.  We are sure that the IPO will be well-supported given the investment demand for credit products in a low interest rate market and the quality of the issuer."

Proceeds from the offer will be deployed into KKR-managed investment funds.
