King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) is pleased to have advised the Sunshine Coast Council and SunCentral Maroochydore Pty Ltd on agreements that will see in the order of $2.5 billion in investment by Walker Corporation in the new city centre in Maroochydore.
The Maroochydore City Centre on Queensland's Sunshine Coast will be developed by Walker Corporation over much of the 53-hectare greenfield site. It is planned that the city centre will be embedded with smart technology to create a cleaner, greener, more dynamic CBD and urban living environment. The development is anticipated to ultimately deliver approximately 160,000 square metres of commercial and retail space and 4,000 residential apartments over the next 20 years.
The KWM team advising on the deal was led by partner David Bell.
