King & Wood Mallesons (KWM) is pleased to have advised financiers to Ratch-Australia on the portfolio financing of their Australian renewable assets: Mount Emerald Wind Farm in QLD, Collector Wind Farm in NSW and Collinsville Solar Farm in QLD.

The KWM deal team was led by Partner Claire Rogers and Senior Associate Tim Stanton and supported by Solicitors Amaryllis Tian and Lily Rayment.

The transaction follows Ratch’s successful acquisition of Nexif Energy’s Australian and South East Asian energy assets and is the latest renewable portfolio financing, which has become a popular trend in the Australian market.

Commenting on the transaction, Claire Rogers said: “We are very pleased to have worked with Ratch-Australia and their financiers on a successful portfolio financing in the Australian market. We are seeing a clear trend towards such financing structures with sponsors seeking longer term financing for developed assets, flexibility and pricing that comes with a portfolio. The transaction demonstrated the significant appetite for financiers lending to renewable assets in Australia. These types of structures are important to facilitate recycling of capital into future projects and support energy transition to a lower carbon economy.”
